Who is responsible for what, in language you can read without a lawyer. This page is a plain-English summary — the linked agreements are the documents that actually bind either of us.
The chain
Four parties, four responsibilities
A domain purchase involves more parties than the checkout page suggests. Here is who they are and what each one is accountable for.
1. The registry
Operates the extension itself — Verisign for .com and .net, PIR for .org, and so on. It sets the wholesale price and the rules specific to that extension. Neither we nor the registrar can override a registry rule.
2. The registrar of record — Wild West Domains, LLC
An ICANN-accredited registrar. It holds the registration relationship with the registry for domains registered through Domaind, and is the registrar of record shown in WHOIS. Your registration is subject to its registration agreement and to the applicable ICANN policies.
3. Domaind — the reseller
We are an independent reseller and are not an ICANN-accredited registrar. We provide the interface, the pricing, the account, the support and the marketplace experience. We do not hold the accreditation and we do not have a direct contract with the registry.
4. You — the registrant
You are the legal holder of the domain. You are responsible for keeping your contact details accurate — inaccurate registrant data is grounds for suspension under ICANN rules — and for renewing on time. You may transfer the name away after the 60-day lock, free of charge.

Buying and selling a domain someone owns
Domaind is not the seller
Names shown as for sale are owned by third parties and listed through aftermarket partner networks. Domaind presents those listings and facilitates the transaction. We do not own the domains, we do not set the asking prices, and we make no representation about a domain's suitability, valuation or freedom from third-party rights.
Listings can change or disappear
Availability, asking price and transfer eligibility are controlled by the owner and the relevant partner network and may change without notice — including while you are negotiating. Submitting an offer does not reserve a domain.
Escrow, and what happens if a sale fails
Funds for aftermarket purchases are held by a third-party escrow provider and are released to the seller only after the domain has been confirmed in the buyer's account. If the transfer cannot be completed, the escrow provider refunds the buyer in accordance with its own terms.
Commission on a sale
Sellers pay no listing fee. Commission is charged on the sale price only after a completed sale, at the rate disclosed before the listing goes live, and is subject to the terms of the partner network through which the sale completes. Current rates are published here.
What we will not list
Names that infringe third-party trademarks, names that appear to have been obtained without the owner's authorisation, typo-squats of well-known brands, and names whose evident purpose is illegal activity. We remove listings on credible notice and cooperate with UDRP and URS proceedings.
Prices, taxes and fees
Prices shown are indicative, are stated in USD unless marked otherwise, and exclude applicable taxes and ICANN fees. Registry price changes are passed on with notice. Renewal prices are shown alongside first-year prices on the pricing page — read them before you buy.
Privacy and data
What we do with your details
Registrant data
Registering a domain requires us to pass your registrant details to the registrar of record and, where the registry requires it, to the registry. This is mandated by ICANN and cannot be opted out of. WHOIS privacy keeps those details out of the public WHOIS record; it does not hide them from the registrar, the registry, or a valid legal request.
Offers and negotiations
When you make an offer, the seller sees your offer amount, your message, and the email address you provided. They do not see your other domains, your account, or your search history.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account at any time, subject to the registration records we are required to retain. Requests go to the support contact form.
